{"id":5150,"date":"2025-06-27T08:50:51","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T08:50:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lgbti-label.ch\/?p=5150"},"modified":"2025-06-27T08:50:52","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T08:50:52","slug":"diversity-inclusion-in-turbulent-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lgbti-label.ch\/en\/diversity-inclusion-in-turbulent-times\/","title":{"rendered":"Diversity &amp; Inclusion in Turbulent Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On <strong>May 27, 2024<\/strong>, Swiss LGBTI Label hosted the event <strong>\u201cDiversity &amp; Inclusion in Turbulent Times\u201d<\/strong> at <strong>Z\u00fcrcher Kantonalbank (ZKB)<\/strong>, bringing together researchers, business representatives, and inclusion advocates for a rich and timely exchange.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion explored both the progress made in LGBTI+ inclusion in Switzerland and the emerging risks in today\u2019s climate of social tension and political backlash.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Inclusion Works \u2014 and Benefits Everyone<\/h2>\n<p>Research shared by <strong>Dr. Tabea H\u00e4ssler and Dr. L\u00e9\u00efla Eisner<\/strong> from the <strong>University of Zurich<\/strong> and the Swiss LGBTIQ+ Panel emphasized a clear message: Inclusive workplace environments benefit all employees. When organizations actively value both visible (e.g., age, skin color, disability) and invisible (e.g., sexual orientation, intersex status, personality) dimensions of diversity, it leads to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increased well-being and sense of belonging<\/li>\n<li>Better health and reduced stress<\/li>\n<li>Stronger identification with the employer<\/li>\n<li>Lower turnover intentions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Psychological Safety Is Essential<\/h2>\n<p>Even as LGBTI+ inclusion becomes more widely accepted in Swiss workplaces, many still experience increased stress, often triggered by external anti-LGBTI+ narratives or subtle forms of exclusion.
